Summary:
As Meta's Wearables roadmap expands to cater to a growing consumer base, delivering user experiences demands innovation, deployment, and scaling of critical optical components and modules, such as waveguides, lenses, and eye-piece integration. This technology requires rapid advancements in performance, partner expansion, scalability, and cost-efficiency in a new and emerging space.We are looking for an experienced sourcing professional with a technical and sourcing background in module integration to drive deployment of new technologies, new partners, own factory operations and sourcing of eye-piece modules and components for AR applications.

Strategic Sourcing Manager, Waveguide and EP Module Responsibilities:
Operate in an new, developing and ambiguous space to develop cohesive supply chain and sourcing strategies aligned with product roadmaps, technical and commercial goals. Communicate trade-offs, advise internal partners, drive consensus among key stakeholders and executive leadership
Research and identify potential suppliers of components and eye-piece modules, assess supplier capabilities, technology roadmap, and quality standards, conduct supplier audits and technical assessments
Lead commercial negotiations to secure favorable pricing, terms, and conditions, draft, review, and manage contracts and supply agreements, ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, product development, and quality teams to define technical requirements
Collaborate with legal, finance, and operations to support contractual and sourcing activities
Build and maintain solid relationships with key suppliers and internal cross-functional teams
Stay updated on market trends, emerging technologies, and industry landscape, provide strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders
Drive supplier readiness activities to execute development builds leading up to ramp, development of process qualifications plans, and defining capacity and capex requirements, clearly identifying deliverables and dependencies
Manage production ramps with suppliers in close collaboration with operations teams, and deliver supply against demand forecast. Build contingency strategies to support and maintain supply continuity through program lifetimes. Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to quality, delivery, or cost
Own module and component supply and pricing through program end of life
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or higher in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain/Operations discipline or equivalent experience
5+ years’ experience in a Sourcing role for high-volume consumer electronics device
Proven background in advanced manufacturing processes, including lamination, assembly, SMT etc
Proven problem solving and analytical skills, including advanced skills in Excel
Experience with product features/specifications, manufacturing processes and the supply chain for consumer electronics products
Experience influencing stakeholders, managing internal partnerships, external suppliers and manufacturers
Project management experience, including cross-functional stakeholder management
Experience navigating ambiguity in a time-sensitive environment and prioritize multiple and competing work threads to maximizing impact
Demonstrated history of owning factory operations and delivery through module/component lifecycle

- Prior Experience in eye piece modules integration, lens and waveguides is a bonus but not required
Public Compensation:
$168,000/year to $234,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
