You can help drive customers to modernize and move their SQL Server estates to the cloud: the Databases team in Azure Marketing is looking for a Senior Product Marketing Manager, SQL Server and SQL Migration to accelerate the business by promoting SQL Server 2025, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), and the tools and guidance for modernizing. This role will provide the chance to work on a key product offering and to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including Microsoft product teams, customers, field, and partners.

Responsibilities
Lead product messaging and positioning, market insights, pricing and offers, and the product and feature launch motion for SQL Server, SQL Server on Azure Virtual Machines (VMs), and tools for migration of SQL Server to Azure. Responsibilities include:
Act as the lead product marketing manager for SQL Server 2025 and SQL Server on Azure VMs by owning messaging and positioning, collateral, web presence, and feature releases.
Drive momentum for SQL Server 2025 with sales, marketing teams, partners and customers around the world by promoting upgrading to 2025, building AI apps with SQL Server, and migrating to and running in Azure.
Own the end-to-end lifecycle for SQL Server, including helping customers manage end-of-life decisions.
Understand customers’ hybrid scenarios that cross cloud and their on-premises datacenter. Land the value proposition for Azure Arc-enabling SQL Server for greater security, manageability, and ease of migration.
Build out the customer’s SQL Server migration journey, from discovery and assessment to migration, testing, production, and optimization.
Refine and execute the strategy for SQL Server migration, and create customer scenarios, stories, pitch decks, and demos to convey the big picture.
Drive customer demand by refining our “Why SQL Server is optimal on Azure” pitch. Champion competitive differentiation for SQL Server on Azure versus other clouds.
Promote Azure migration offers including Azure Accelerate and savings plans for databases.
Accelerate migration and remove blockers across product, partner, sales and marketing through the rhythm of the business. Drive initiatives and programs across teams to improve and meet organizational goals.

Qualifications
Required/minimum qualifications
Master's Degree in in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 3+ years experience in product marketing
OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 5+ years experience in product marketing
OR equivalent experience.
Additional or preferred qualifications
Master's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 6+ years experience in product marketing
OR Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Computer Science, Business or related field AND 8+ years experience in product marketing
OR equivalent experience.
Experience in product marketing in Data Platform or Database technologies
Experience in messaging and positioning for business to business (b2b) products
Product Marketing IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 - $203,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,600 - $222,600 per year.
