We are seeking an outstanding mechanical engineer who combines superb technical and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person will be responsible for developing 3D and 2D mechanical designs and related analysis and documentation, specifically for fixturing and tooling systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mechanical engineering suited for both prototype and production-level designs.
Responsibilities
Develop 3D and 2D mechanical designs for fixturing and tooling systems.
Conduct analysis and documentation of mechanical designs.
Apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials in the manufacturing process.
Develop and test hardware at scale, focusing on high-end optics and precision mechanisms.
Specify and justify margins and test sequences, and qualify military/aerospace systems.
Perform GDT and tolerance analysis.
Design and develop production fixturing and tooling.
Essential Skills
BSc in Mechanical Engineering.
5 years of experience with CAD.
Proficiency with NX TeamCenter.
Experience in DFA, DFM, and manufacturing process development.
5 years of experience with design and development of hardware at scale.
5 years of experience with the development, test, and deployment of military/aerospace systems.
Experience with specifying/justifying margins and test sequences.
Experience with GDT and tolerance analysis.
Experience with production fixturing and tooling.
Strong communication and writing skills.
Must be a US person.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Ability to lead interdisciplinary discussions between Hardware Reliability and Firmware teams.
Strong time and task management skills with attention to detail.
Experience in providing manufacturing decision-making information.
Use of engineering project management software such as JIRA, Confluence, or other Agile tools.
Work Environment
The position requires working in the office 5 days a week.

This is a Contract position based out of Redmond, WA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $67.00 - $73.30/hr.
