Position Highlights
Job Summary:
Assists in nursing care by performance of routine and delegated duties according to the standards. Has a knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocol relating to the physical and psychological needs of the patient throughout their life span. Provides clerical services to the nursing unit. Serves as a liaison for the nurse and patient in interdepartmental communications. Functions in public relations role as receptionist.
Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to respond to specific issues and data reflective of the patient/customer's status. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the population served in the department.

Provides Personal Care For Patients Such As Bed Baths, Shampoo Hair, Shaving And Oral Hygiene.
Able To Assist With Feeding Patients.
Maintains Clean Environment For The Patient In Their Room.
Collect, Label and Transport Body Fluid Specimens
Catheter Care
Prioritizes And Processes Multiple Tasks In A Timely Manner
Promotes Effective Verbal And Written Communication Skills

Work Environment:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Must be at least 18 years of age.

Experience:
Previous hospital experience, nursing home experience, nurse aid class or nursing student experience desired, not required.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Works directly under supervision of R.N. on duty. Performs assigned duties as delegated. Follows established nursing procedures. Seeks guidance when in doubt. Reports pertinent information to RN. Emotional stability and adaptability to meet demands of the situation is essential. Constant exposure to medical and personal information requires confidentiality. Responsible for own actions. May be required to float to other inpatient units as requested by management for staffing support.
Schedule:
PRN ... Works up to 12 hour shifts.
