Silverthorn Resort Marine Service Technician (Mechanic) in Redding, California

Summary Silverthorn Resort is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Marine Service Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in high-quality workmanship, demonstrates strong reliability, and maintains a professional attitude at all times.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the repair, maintenance, and installation of marine engines and systems, including Volvo Penta, MerCruiser, and OMC stern drives, as well as Westerbeke and Kohler generators. The advertised pay range reflects candidates with these qualifications.

Requirements - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum of 1 year of related experience and/or training (or equivalent combination of education and experience) - Strong communication skills - Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings

Key Responsibilities Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Maintain, repair, and rebuild engines, outdrives, and generators on houseboats - Service engines and drivetrains on ski boats and work boats - Maintain and repair outboard engines on patio and fishing boats - Repair or replace mechanical components such as pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings - Overhaul or replace carburetors, generators, starters, pumps, and related systems - Perform electrical work including ignition systems, charging systems, control circuits, lighting, and instrumentation - Repair or replace steering systems - Conduct routine maintenance including oil and filter changes - Maintain and repair resort vehicles and equipment (gas, diesel, and propane) - Operate chase boats to diagnose and service rental fleet issues - Perform turnaround (TA) inspections and repairs for houseboats and small boats

Compensation and Schedule - Pay Range: $16.90 - $28.00 per hour (based on experience) - Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, with possible overtime - Availability required for weekends and summer holidays
