As a Pipefitter Journeyman for our Bison Project in Ray, North Dakota, you will contribute to our team by:
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities of a Journeyman Pipefitter may include but are not limited to the following items:
• Safe use of hand & power tools (trained and proficient to operate as required by PCL, the manufacturer, client and or government requirements).
• Work safely always and promote safety to others around you.
• Accountable for all personal and assigned company tools and project materials.
• Strong working knowledge of and experience working with piping systems.
• Interpret and understand piping isometrics, orthographic, P&ID’s, technical drawings, and specifications to determine the proper layout, configuration, and orientation of piping components.
• Plans sequence of installation to avoid obstructions and activities of other construction workers, and coordinate with others in the area to ensure activities are safe.
- Assist supervisor as needed in assuring all required PCL and client documents, forms and other paperwork is completed accurately and obtain approvals as necessary. Examples include Quality and Safety documents.
• Must be willing to provide guidance and on-the-job training and mentoring to others, such as Pipefitter Helper or Laborers.
• Participate in all health, safety, environmental and quality programs and processes.
• Conduct oneself as a Role Model when representing PCL all project and client personnel, coworkers, other contractors and subs, and the community.
• Sufficient math knowledge and skills as related to the job tasks. Basically, ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and fractions rapidly and accurately, and apply such formulas related to pipefitting.
• Working knowledge of safe rigging and materials lifting practices and methods.
• Able to set up and use oxygen/acetylene torch equipment, as well as pipe beveling and threading equipment.
• Knowledge of control valves, check valves, and relief valves related to the removal, handling, and proper installation.
• Be able to assemble and disassemble piping systems during construction, maintenance, or repair projects. They may need to remove and replace damaged pipes, valves, or fittings.
• Possess a general knowledge of hydrostatic, pneumatic and leak testing of piping systems as well as visual inspection of work.
• Able to install and remove blinds for isolating fixed equipment and / or piping for performing testing or making tie ins.
• Knowledge of the proper methods to pre-heat various materials/alloys in preparation for cutting, welding, and post-weld treatment.
What you will bring to the role:
Must have 48+ minimal hands-on experience within craft
Must have work experience in petrochemical, power plant or Oil and Gas refinery
Must meet pre-requirements Drug and Alcohol Test
Must have OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
