Heavy Civil Construction Power Equipment Operator -- Group 1
*Job Duties *
• Operate light to medium construction equipment used in heavy civil and highway construction, such as skid steers, rollers, water trucks, loaders, and small excavators
• Perform basic excavation, grading, backfilling, and material handling operations under direction of supervisors
• Assist with roadway, utility, embankment, and structural construction activities
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance such as fueling, lubricating, and cleaning
• Coordinate equipment movements with ground crews to maintain safe and e icient operations
• Follow tra ic control plans, jobsite safety rules, and operational procedures
• Accurately perform work while maintaining production and quality standards
*Required Skills *
• Ability to safely operate assigned construction equipment in varying site conditions
• Basic knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and materials
• Understanding of jobsite safety requirements, including working around personnel and active traffic
• Ability to follow instructions, read basic grade stakes, and work as part of a construction crew
• Good hand-eye coordination, spatial awareness, and attention to detail
• Physical ability to work long hours outdoors in all weather conditions
• Dependable, safety-focused, and adaptable to changing jobsite needs
Must have documentation for completing I-9 form for employer.
Must have resided in the state of Wyoming for at least 90 days.
