Job Title: Production Supervisor

Job Description

As a Production Supervisor, you will be responsible for directing a production and packaging crew in the operations of salt and blending panels, as well as overseeing batch preparation and packaging operations. Your role includes packaging, labeling, and weighing Phos-Chek® products, completing production and shipping records, collecting quality control samples, and training operators. You will assess returned, damaged, and old products, dispatch customer orders, and ensure a safe work environment. You will also handle warehousing and shipping, manage non-conforming materials, and maintain quality awareness among the workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a production and packaging crew.

  • Oversee salt panel and blending panel operations.

  • Manage batch preparation and packaging operations.

  • Complete production records and records of lot numbers shipped.

  • Collect and mark representative quality control samples.

  • Train and lead operators in the production of Phos-Chek® retardant.

  • Assess and determine the disposition of returned, damaged, and old products.

  • Dispatch customer orders.

  • Ensure a clean, safe, and healthy work environment for production employees.

  • Determine production personnel needs and staff accordingly.

  • Plan and schedule production activities.

  • Handle material warehousing and shipping of Phos-Chek® products.

  • Control non-conforming raw materials and finished goods.

  • Maintain production records and ensure compliance with regulations.

  • Support NetSuite data entry to process production entries and raw material receipts.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in heavy lifting and general labor.

  • Familiarity with hand tools.

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Supervisory experience in production and packaging.

  • Adherence to safe work practices and safety policies.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual capabilities.

  • Ability to exercise adequate supervision in manufacturing and storage operations.

  • Capability to participate in the hiring process for seasonal personnel.

  • Participation in safety committees and conducting safety inspections.

  • Ability to perform daily security checks of the plant site.

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Work Environment

The work environment involves a large manufacturing facility where fire retardants are produced. It is characterized by particles, dust, and noise, with extended work periods during peak seasons. Employees are provided with PPE, including steel toe shoes, hard hats, safety glasses, and ear protection. The attire may get stained due to the nature of the products. The role requires availability for after-hours work as needed.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
