Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half is partnering with a a growing, manufacturing organization is seeking a Cost Accountant to support inventory, COGS, and manufacturing cost functions across multiple sites. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who thrives in a high‑reliability, production‑focused environment and who enjoys partnering with operations and senior leadership. Key Responsibilities
Perform month‑end close activities and prepare journal entries for inventory, COGS, and fixed assets
Reconcile inventory, cost of sales, and general ledger accounts
Analyze variances including purchase price variances and work order variances
Assist with inventory costing and related ERP activities
Support internal/external audits including SOX testing and annual reviews
Track capital expenditures, maintain fixed asset records, and handle prepaid amortization
Prepare business property tax filings and U.S. Census reporting
Ensure GAAP compliance and adherence to internal accounting policies
Requirements
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
5+ years of cost accounting experience in an manufacturing or engineering environment.
Experience supporting medium‑to‑large accounting environments
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
Familiarity with ERP systems
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
