Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.

  • Experience with leadership (e.g., people management, team lead, mentorship, coaching).

  • Experience with cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, virtualization, or containerization platforms.

  • Experience with technical conversations, demos, prototyping, or workshops with customers.

Preferred qualifications:

  • 5 years of experience leading pre-sales or technical consulting teams, with a track record of hitting regional business goals and coaching talent.

  • Experience working with sales and sales operations.

  • Experience collaborating with product management to influence roadmaps based on field feedback.

  • Knowledge of SecOps (SIEM/Security Orchestration, Automation and Response (SOAR)), threat intelligence, Cloud Security and Mandiant consulting services.

  • Knowledge of AI-driven defense (Gemini), agentic SOC.

  • Ability to translate technical vulnerabilities into business risk for CISOs and CTOs.

As a Customer Engineering (CE) Manager, you will lead and deploy a team of subject matter experts responsible for working alongside our customers to provide trusted technical and solution advice to accelerate workload migration and remove technical blockers. You will foster a culture of technical ownership and understand the mechanics of architecture, delivery, and consumption across the Google Cloud portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a high-impact team of technical architects who serve as the frontline defenders of customer trust. Recruit, coach, inspire your team.

  • Demonstrate how Google’s security including AI-powered threat detection solves the most daunting cyber challenges. Cultivate a group of trusted advisors who move customers from a state of reactive fear to proactive resilience.

  • Collaborate with sales leadership to hit business goals, remove technical blockers.

  • Act as a critical feedback channel, translating boots-on-the-ground customer challenges into actionable insights for Google’s Product and Engineering teams.

  • Serve as the technical Google Cloud Security during high-stakes negotiations and architectural reviews with CISOs and Chief Technology Officers (CTOs).
