What Application Development & Maintenance contributes to Cardinal Health
Information Technology oversees the effective development, delivery, and operation of computing and information services. This function anticipates, plans, and delivers Information Technology solutions and strategies that enable operations and drive business value.
Application Development & Maintenance performs configuration or coding to develop, enhance and sustain the organization's software systems in a cross-functional team environment through adherence to established design control processes and good engineering practices. This job family programs and configures end user applications, systems, databases and websites to achieve the organization's internal needs and externally-facing business needs. Application Development & Maintenance partners with business leaders, investigates user needs and conducts regular assessments, maintenance and enhancements of existing applications.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 application support for DC warehouse systems, including:
Manhattan Active Warehouse Management (Active WM)
CMS
SYNQ / Auto Store
SLAM
Numina and other supporting integrations
Troubleshoot production incidents, analyze root cause, and coordinate resolution with internal teams and vendors.
Support system availability, monitoring, and service restoration for mission-critical warehouse applications.
Participate in on-call or escalated support rotations as required.
Analyze business issues, defects, and enhancement requests; translate them into clear functional requirements.
Support small enhancements and change requests, including validation, testing, and deployment coordination.
Partner with engineering teams to clarify requirements and validate solutions.
Assist with defect prioritization and backlog management for run-related work.
Support SOX and audit requests, including documentation, evidence gathering, and remediation tracking.
Ensure application changes follow IT controls, change management, and release governance processes.
Partner with security, infrastructure, and network teams on compliance-related activities.
Support interfaces between warehouse systems and upstream/downstream applications.
Coordinate with third-party vendors and platform partners for troubleshooting, fixes, and upgrades.
Assist with testing and validation of vendor-provided patches or releases.
Maintain and update functional documentation, support runbooks, and process flows.
Identify opportunities to improve support processes, incident response, and system stability.
Contribute to knowledge sharing and mentoring of junior analysts.
Qualifications
2-4 years of experience in application support, systems analysis or IT Operations, preferred
Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred
Experience supporting warehouse or supply chain systems
Hands-on experience with Manhattan Active WMS or similar WMS platforms, preferred
Strong understanding of distribution center operations and logistics processes.
Experience analyzing and troubleshooting complex application issues across integrated systems.
Familiarity with:
Incident and problem management processes
Change and release management
Interface and data flow analysis
Ability to interpret business needs and translate them into functional requirements.
Experience supporting audits, compliance, or SOX-related activities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently while collaborating across technical and business teams.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced operations-driven environment with shifting priorities.

Anticipated salary range: $80,500 - $103,410
