The PrincipalAI Product Designer is a senior strategic individual contributor responsible for shaping how Artificial Intelligence transforms asset lifecycle management, operational intelligence, and customer decision-making across Brightly’s product ecosystem.

This role operates with enterprise-level impact and executive visibility. The Principal will define and champion AI experience principles spanning traditional machine learning systems as well as emerging generative and agentic technologies — ensuring that innovation is responsible, accessible, explainable, and aligned to measurable customer value.

This is not a people management role. It is a hands-on, high-influence position responsible for shaping vision, mentoring design teams, elevating AI fluency across the organization, and ensuring scalable, trustworthy AI experience standards are embedded across products.

What you will do

  • Defineand articulate Brightly’s AI product experience vision and north star(s)across the portfolio in partnership with executive leadership.

  • TranslateAI capabilities — including predictive systems, generative AI, and agenticworkflows — into differentiated, enterprise-grade user experiences thatdrive measurable customer and business outcomes.

  • Establishscalable interaction standards for explainability, transparency,human-in-the-loop workflows, and trust in AI-enabled products.

  • Designand co-design high-impact AI initiatives embedded in core workflows,ensuring responsible and accessible execution.

  • Partnerclosely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and UXteams to align AI investment strategy with user value and enterprisereadiness.

  • ElevateAI fluency across Product, Design, and Engineering through mentorship,education, design critiques, and shared frameworks.

  • Identifycross-portfolio AI opportunities that improve retention, expansion,operational efficiency, and customer confidence.

  • Leadforward-looking exploration of emerging AI paradigms and rapidly prototypeconcepts that bridge innovation into practical enterprise solutions.

  • Contributeto executive briefings, client engagements, and strategic discussionswhere AI strategy and value articulation are central.

  • Championresponsible AI adoption, ensuring governance, accessibility, and inclusivedesign principles are embedded into AI-driven solutions.

What you need

  • Bachelor’sdegree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science,Psychology, or a related field required; Master’s degree or advancedcoursework in UX, AI, or human-centered technology preferred.

  • 10+years of experience in UX or Product Design within complex enterprise orB2B environments.

  • Experienceoperating at a Principal or Director level as a high-impact strategicindividual contributor.

  • Strongsystems thinking across multi-product ecosystems and cross-functionalenvironments.

  • Demonstratedability to influence executive stakeholders and shape cross-organizationaldirection without direct authority.

  • Deepconceptual understanding of AI approaches, including:

  • Traditionalmachine learning systems and probabilistic outputs

  • Modelconfidence and interpretability concepts

  • GenerativeAI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and prompt orchestration

  • Human-in-the-loopsystems and workflow augmentation

  • Agenticmulti-step reasoning systems

  • ResponsibleAI deployment and governance considerations

  • Abilityto translate technical AI capabilities into coherent, usable, anddifferentiated enterprise experiences.

  • Strongstorytelling and communication skills, with experience presenting tosenior executives or clients.

  • Commitmentto responsible AI practices, accessibility, and inclusive design.

  • Abilityand willingness to travel up to 15% of the time inside and outside of theUS.
