The Role

The Lead Data Architect is a strategic role responsible for defining, designing, and delivering advanced planning and analytics solutions that prioritize security, usability, efficiency, automation, and stability. This position plays a pivotal role in the integration of multi-system data, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and optimal performance as new forecasting solutions and business processes are implemented. This role will partner closely with Finance, FP&A, and business stakeholders to maintain, enhance, and support SAC planning models, reporting, and analytics solutions. The ideal candidate has strong SAP Analytics Cloud planning experience, a solid understanding of financial processes, and complementary analytics skills across Excel and Power BI.

The Main Responsibilities

Project Related Deliverables and Tasks

• Select and implement the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support data technology goals.

• Oversee the mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics, with the goal of ensuring data quality.

• Collaborate with project leads and consultants and business unit leaders for all projects involving enterprise data and analytics.

• Create and maintain data model and metadata policies and procedures for functional design.

• Provide technical recommendations and engage with ETL/BI Architects, Business SMEs and other stakeholders throughout the Solution/Data Architecture and implementation lifecycle and recommend effective solutions to develop high performance and highly scalable data solutions (data marts/warehouse and data mining and advanced analytics)

• Ensures solution designs address the data standards and principles both from a functional and technical requirement perspective.

• Participate in Design Authority forum and contribute artefacts as necessary.

• Address data-related problems in regard to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.

• Breaks down complex projects into simple systems that can be effectively built and maintained by less experienced engineers.

• Develop and implement key components as needed to create testing criteria in order to guarantee the fidelity and performance of data architecture.

• Document the project and programs data architecture and environment in order to maintain a current and accurate view of the larger data picture, an environment that supports a single version of the truth and is scalable to support future analytical needs.

• Identify and develop opportunities for data reuse, migration, or retirement and platform upgrades.

• Communicate with customer, project team in a timely manner and escalates issues & risks appropriately.

• Defines the standards to use for data modeling and management of data models ensures that data models produced adhere to these standards.

• Ensures that all documented artifacts and templates are captured in the appropriate document repository.

• Partners directly with IT development teams and technical architects in the physical implementation of the logical data models

• Partners directly with data governance group, technical architects, and IT leads in the selection of metadata tools.

• Has deep technical domain knowledge of Lumen. This can cover apps, services, systems, or frameworks.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or related degree.

  • Proven expertise in data modeling, calculations for standard planning and forecasting processes.

  • Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical planning solutions. Experience assisting, coordinating, and leading integrated workshops and requirements gathering exercises.

  • Hands-on experience with system integration, data management, and enterprise-scale analytics projects.

  • Experience with other Enterprise Planning & Analytics (EPM) tools, Power BI, and Excel modeling

  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, ETL processes, and predictive analytics methodologies.

Compensation

This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience and other relevant factors.

Location Based Pay Ranges

$105,786 - $141,047 in these states: AL AR AZ FL GA IA ID IN KS KY LA ME MO MS MT ND NE NM OH OK PA SC SD TN UT VT WI WV WY

$111,074 - $148,099 in these states: CO HI MI MN NC NH NV OR RI

$116,364 - $155,152 in these states: AK CA CT DC DE IL MA MD NJ NY TX VA WA
