Job Description Summary
The Program
Par Health offers an 11-week internship program designed to provide an immersive experience in the pharmaceutical industry. As a Par Health Intern, you’ll have the chance to contribute to meaningful projects that align with your field of study. This program allows you to apply classroom knowledge in a real-world corporate setting while building valuable connections through networking opportunities across the organization.
Summary of Position
Process Engineering Intern in the p-aminophenol (PAP) plant. The intern will report to a Senior Process Engineer in the PAP Operation and will be assigned at least one project that will be focused on a significant improvement opportunity for plant reliability or product quality. The position will require interaction with Process Engineers, Supervisors and Operators in the PAP plant. There will also be interaction with the maintenance team (mechanics, instrumentation and electrical technicians and Reliability Engineers). There may also be interaction with the Project Engineering, Controls and Technical Operations Team.
The PAP Plant is an outdoor chemical production facility. You will be working in the Production Area of the plant and will be expected to comply with all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Job Description
Responsibilities
Understand the project purpose and expectations.
Maintain good documentation records from data collected for the project.
Learn and Practice good cGMP and EHS methods.
Report findings through the Senior Process Engineer.
A final report is required at the end of the internship that will be presented to the appropriate PAP Operations / Tech Ops team members.
Minimum Requirements
Enrolled in bachelor’s degree program related to Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (Bachelor of Science) degree
Strong knowledge of chemistry, physics, and engineering principles
Prefer the student to have completed at least sophomore level course work.
Experience with MS Office, etc.
Motivated self-starter, operates independently, etc.
Strong communication skills, etc.
Good social skills
Relationship with Others/Scope of Position
Interact with other team members and cross functionally as needed
