What You'll Do
As a Family Peer Support Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of Family Peer Support Specialists.
- Oversee the implementation of family peer support programs for families with children facing behavioral health challenges.
- Help families navigate complex child-serving systems, including mental health, developmental disabilities, education, juvenile justice, and child welfare.
- Use your personal experience as a caregiver of a child with behavioral health needs to guide and strengthen family support.
- Collaborate with professionals and community partners to ensure coordinated, family-centered services.
What We're Looking For
- Education:Associates degree in a Human Services-related field.
- Experience:At least 1 year as a Family Peer Support Specialist.
- Training:Completion of 88 hours in the 5 CFPS Core Competencies in preparation for the National Certification exam.
Additional Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build trust with diverse families.
- Leadership and mentoring abilities to foster team growth.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with initiative and accountability.
- Knowledge of community resources and systems to connect families with the right support.
- Advocacy skills for navigating behavioral health, education, and child welfare systems.
- Empathy and understanding of the challenges families face when caring for children with behavioral health needs.
