Actalent Assistant Project Manager in Raleigh, North Carolina

We are seeking a motivated Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects, with a strong emphasis on Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R) work within the municipal, K–12, and higher education markets. This role is ideal for a construction professional looking to grow within a collaborative project team environment while gaining hands-on experience on complex, ground-up new construction and addition projects.
Responsibilities
Support all phases of the project lifecycle, from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, owners, designers, and subcontractors.
Assist with subcontractor procurement, bid reviews, contract administration, and buyout processes.
Help manage project documentation, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and meeting minutes using construction management software.
Coordinate with Superintendents to support schedule adherence, site logistics, and field operations.
Track project costs, budgets, and forecasts, assisting with cost reporting and change management.
Participate in owner, architect, and subcontractor meetings to support project communication and coordination.
Assist with project interviews, presentations, and pursuit efforts as needed.
Essential Skills
Experience supporting municipal projects typically ranging from $5M–$20M.
Experience supporting K–12 or higher education projects, ideally $25M–$40M range.
Strong understanding of Construction Manager at Risk (CM@R) delivery methods.
Familiarity with construction management software for document control and coordination.
Ability to assist with schedule development and tracking using Microsoft Project and/or Primavera P6.
Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across project teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Candidates should be able to clearly articulate prior project experience, including project size, sector, and level of responsibility.
Interest in long-term growth within a construction management career path.
Work Environment
This position is primarily based on-site at active project locations, with time split between the field and project office depending on project phase.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
