Siemens Energy Assistant Project Manager, High Voltage Projects-Raleigh, NC (US) in Raleigh, North Carolina
A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Assistant Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you will support the delivery of complex high‑voltage EPC and OEM energy infrastructure projects, including HVDC and grid access solutions. Working under the guidance of one or more Project Managers, you will contribute to day‑to‑day project execution while progressively taking ownership of defined work packages and scopes within larger, multi‑disciplinary projects. You will work closely with the project administration team, as well as engineering, site management, procurement, scheduling, construction, commissioning, EHS, quality, and finance functions. This role offers a strong balance between office‑based coordination and site exposure, providing hands‑on experience across all phases of HV project delivery. Through proactive coordination, structured delivery, and a strong learning mindset, you will support safe, compliant, and efficient project execution while developing the skills and experience required to progress toward a Project Manager role. This position is based in the Siemens Energy Grid Technologies office in Raleigh, North Carolina, with opportunities to support site‑based activities as required by the project.
How You’ll Make an Impact
50% Project Execution Management & Support
Monitor project progress against timelines and milestones, identifying and reporting deviations to the Project Manager.
Work Package Ownership: Support assigned Project Managers by owning and delivering specific work packages or scopes, ensuring alignment with overall project schedule, cost, quality, and safety objectives.
Assist with planning, coordination, and execution of HV project activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Cross‑Functional Coordination: Liaise closely with engineering, site management, procurement, scheduling, project controls, EHS, quality, finance, and project administration teams to enable integrated project delivery
Coordinate with the project administration team to ensure timely preparation, review, and control of project documentation, reports, and meeting records.
30% Financial & Commercial Management
Support the project invoicing and billing process to ensure accuracy and timeliness in coordination with finance departments.
Assist with cost tracking, forecasting inputs, and change management support related to assigned work packages.
Support the identification, documentation, and tracking of risks, issues, and opportunities within assigned scopes, contributing to mitigation and resolution actions
20% Stakeholder & Team Coordination
Serve as a key point of contact for internal project stakeholders, facilitating effective communication and information flow.
Support the Project Manager in preparing for and documenting client meetings and managing relationships.
Provide guidance and review the work of lower-level professionals or project coordinators as required.
Support site‑based execution activities as required, promoting strong EHS culture and compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Contribute to lessons‑learned, process improvement initiatives, and standardization efforts across the project portfolio
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree (or near completion) in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil), Project Management, or a related discipline preferred (could consider equivalent practical experience).
Previous experience in project engineering, project coordination, assistant project management, or site support roles, preferably within EPC, energy, construction, or industrial projects a plus. Experience supporting HV, HVDC, or infrastructure projects is preferred.
Foundational understanding of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities within complex project
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, take ownership of defined scopes, and maintain reliable follow‑through.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) with familiarity in project management, scheduling, or document‑control.
Clear, professional communicator with a proactive, collaborative approach and a desire to grow into a Project Manager under senior.
Travel, as needed (10%).
