This role is responsible for assessing current and future network architectures, documenting system interdependencies, designing scalable and secure infrastructures, and ensuring alignment with mission and business objectives. The individual serves as the technical authority for network modernization, resilience, availability, and performance while supporting enterprise architecture frameworks, roadmaps, and compliance requirements.Major ActivitiesLead enterprise network architecture planning, design, and sustainment activitiesPerform quarterly architecture assessments and discovery of network, system, and application relationshipsAnalyze network dependencies and proactively identify risks to availability, performance, and securityDevelop and maintain layered network architecture documentation including:Conceptual diagramsLogical network designsPhysical topology diagramsData and traffic flow mapsDesign secure and scalable network infrastructures supporting on-premise, hybrid, and cloud environmentsArchitect WAN, LAN, MAN, and enclave-based networks across multiple security domainsSupport network segmentation, zero-trust architectures, and boundary protection strategies Design and maintain high-availability, failover, and disaster recovery network architecturesEvaluate emerging technologies and provide strategic recommendationsSupport change management, engineering reviews, and technical governance boardsCollaborate with application, systems, cybersecurity, and operations teamsProvide technical input to modernization initiatives and technology roadmaps Maintain documentation in alignment with PWS, RMF, and audit requirementsSupport incident analysis, root cause investigations, and corrective action planningPresent architecture findings and recommendations to government stakeholdersPerform other duties as appropriate and as assigned.
