The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
The Manager of Sustaining Manufacturing Engineering is responsible for leading and coordinating the Sustaining Manufacturing Engineering team, which includes engineers assigned to key operational areas. This role focuses on directing Manufacturing/Process Engineering resources to provide shop floor support, with an emphasis on Automation and other Industrial equipment. Key responsibilities also involve supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives, conducting data mining and root cause analysis, and spearheading daily cross-functional reviews of performance data to assign and execute necessary corrective actions.
Your responsibilities will include
Mentor, train, and develop direct reports for Engineering sustaining support.
Direct Manufacturing Engineers' assignments and allocate resources to support the Manufacturing Floor.
Support the development and implementation of Performance Management systems, directing engineering decisions for short/long-term objectives.
Facilitate Daily Engineering debrief / performance review for critical areas
Coordinating AM, PMs, and Sustaining Activities with Cross-Functional Team
Lead and Manage the Equipment Access Request (EAR) / Process Change Notifications (PCN) Process.
Collaborate with Production, Continuous Improvement (WCM), and Automated System Technicians to ensure safe, optimal operation, continuously monitoring equipment performance via digital dashboards.
Guide troubleshooting, designing, and redesigning complex automation systems.
Support Work Instructions & Taskforce initiatives
Document improvements and participate in Kaizen events to provide feedback.
Minimum requirements
Bachelor’s Degree
4+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
4+ years of experience implementing continuous improvement, such as Kaizen or other similar continuous improvements
3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
Preferred skills and experiences
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Engineering
Robotic Systems & Automation
Computer skills such as MS Office, Autocad, Oracle, and Google
Leadership in more than one area of discipline
Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills
Problem-solving, conflict resolution, and team-building skills
Highly detail-oriented and organized with excellent analytic and problem-solving abilities.
