Aston Carter Accounting Specialist in Racine, Wisconsin
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail‑oriented and dependable Accounting Specialist to support day‑to‑day accounting operations in our Racine, WI location. This role is responsible for handling a variety of accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, reconciliations, and general ledger support. The ideal candidate is organized, accurate, and comfortable working with ERP/accounting systems while supporting a fast‑paced business environment.
Key Responsibilities
Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner
Review, code, and enter invoices; resolve discrepancies with vendors and internal teams
Process customer payments, apply cash, and assist with collections as needed
Perform account reconciliations, including bank, credit card, and general ledger accounts
Prepare and post journal entries and assist with month‑end close activities
Maintain accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards
Support audits, reporting requests, and internal controls
Collaborate with operations, purchasing, and leadership teams on accounting‑related inquiries
Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives within the accounting department
QualificationsRequired
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or finance‑related experience
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Racine, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
