POSITION SUMMARY:

The GBS Junior Data Analytics Developer plays an integral role in driving performance analysis, dashboards, analytics, business intelligence, and data engineering initiatives across GBS Shared Services globally.

The individual will be a key member of a global team supporting multiple workstreams, including Order-to-Cash (OTC), Record-to-Report (RTR), Procure-to-Pay (PTP), Customer Care and others. The role supports Thermo Fisher Scientific's 2030 vision of becoming a $50B revenue organization by enabling scalable, data-driven decision-making.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Support initiatives involving data mining, transforming, loading, cleansing, analysis, manipulation and visualization.

  • Identify critical data elements and their sources, leveraging appropriate tools and technologies to acquire and consolidate large volumes of data from multiple sources.

  • Assist internal stakeholders across multiple workstreams in evaluating requirements and delivering end-to-end solutions.

  • Partner with Global Shared Services team to identify and implement new BI capabilities and projects.

  • Support ongoing, recurring tasks to ensure seamless operation of critical data processes and reporting activities.

  • Collaborate with financial operations to streamline and enhance the month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting.

  • Build reports, data sets, and data access mechanisms independently or in collaboration with functional analysts to provide actionable business insights.

  • Diagnose and support Power BI reporting solutions, including data validation, issue investigation, scalability optimization, load balancing, and row level security implementation

  • Identify and evaluate new technology opportunities - including regular Microsoft PBI updates - to enhance and modernize the data visualization portfolio.

  • Develop queries and visualizations for ad-hoc requests, projects, and recurring reporting needs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 1 year of experience in Business Intelligence (BI), data analytics, or reporting roles, preferably within finance, shared services, or consulting environments.

  • Bachelor's degree or in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field; relevant certifications or equivalent experience will also be considered.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Experience contributing to multiple parallel initiatives, both independently and as part of cross-functional teams including Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and functional stakeholders.

  • With working knowledge of SQL, ETL processes, and data engineering concepts, and Alteryx.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI is a plus.

  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of DAX in Power BI is an advantage.

  • Exposure to data lake and cloud-based data services environments (e.g., AWS Databricks, Apache Spark, Python) is a plus but not required.

  • Experience with Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate) is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.

  • Adaptability in dynamic and fast-paced environments.

  • Proven ability to build relationships and navigate both formal and informal networks while managing competing stakeholder interest.
