Your role and responsibilities
As a Client Engineer Intern, you will gain exposure to how technology solutions are used to address real client needs and support the sales process. You will work closely with experienced team members to learn how IBM Technologies and Services help deliver meaningful outcomes for clients.
With guidance and mentorship, your responsibilities will include:
• Support MVP Development: Learn how early Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) are developed and validated for specific use cases, and observe how these solutions can be improved and scaled over time.
• Learn About Client Challenges: Participate in activities that help you understand client challenges and explore how IBM Technologies and Services can help address real business problems.
• Assist in Solution Delivery: Support the team in delivering solutions that drive clear client outcomes, while learning best practices from experienced professionals.
• Observe Client Engagements: Observe client interactions to understand how technical expertise is demonstrated and how trust and credibility are built with clients.
• Support the Sales Process: Assist the sales team by providing technical support and insights that help move opportunities forward.
This internship is designed to help you build foundational skills in client engagement, solution engineering, and technology‑enabled sales in a collaborative learning environment.
Required technical and professional expertise
• Basic Understanding of MVPs: Familiarity with the concept of Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and its application in solving client problems. • Exposure to Client Problems: Awareness of the importance of understanding real client problems and exploring potential solutions. • Interest in Solution Delivery: Curiosity about delivering solutions that drive defined client outcomes and willingness to learn from experienced team members. • Observation of Client Interactions: Ability to observe and learn from client interactions, developing an understanding of how to establish technical eminence at the client. • Awareness of Sales Cycles: Basic understanding of the sales cycle and the role of technical support in accelerating it.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Familiarity with Cloud Technologies: Exposure to cloud-based solutions and technologies is beneficial for understanding client problems and delivering solutions. • Knowledge of Emerging Trends: Interest in emerging trends and technologies, such as AI, blockchain, or IoT, can help in exploring potential solutions for clients. • Understanding of Agile Methodologies: Basic understanding of agile methodologies and development practices can aid in delivering solutions that drive defined client outcomes.
