Manulife Associate Full-stack Software Engineer in Quezon City, Philippines

We’re looking for an Associate Full-stack Software Engineer to join our Information Systems team at MBPS. In this role, you will play a key, dynamic role in modernizing our customer interactions, helping to integrate analytics, business intelligence and AI into our decisions while providing actionable insights to stakeholders across the business.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement user interfaces and back-end services that support AI chatbot functionality.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, product managers, and AI/NLP specialists, to ensure successful chatbot implementation

  • Leverage natural language processing (NLP) libraries and services to improve chatbot understanding and generate contextual responses

  • Implement conversation flows, logic, and state management for chatbot interactions

  • Optimize chatbot performance, scalability, and cross-browser compatibility

  • Develop, maintain, and optimize Power BI dashboards that provide insights into chatbot performance, user interactions, and operational metrics.

  • Stay up to date with the latest front-end and back-end technologies, AI/NLP advancements, and industry best practices.

  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality and team collaboration.

  • Troubleshoot and debug issues related to chatbot integration across application components.

  • Amenable to work UP Ayala Technohub (Quezon City) or Mactan Newtown (Cebu)

  • Amenable to work on a hybrid set-up (3x a week onsite)

  • Amenable to work in any shift schedule assigned (night shift; but flexible depending on business need)

Required Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent IT, Computer Science Experience

  • At least 1 year of IT/Computer Science Experience

  • At least 1 year of hands-on development experience with Azure AI technologies, Azure Functions, SQL queries, and other components that support highly automated engineering platforms and Business teams.

  • Proficiency with modern development tools and technologies such as .NET, C#, Node.js, Java, JavaScript, AngularJS, Microsoft Azure, MS Bot Framework, and Power BI.

  • Ability to manage, prioritize multiple work streams in a time sensitive environment

  • Strategic thinker focused on digital enhancements, AI, machine learning, and the customer.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Can translate a more complex technical problem into business terms

  • Strong application development/programming skills

  • Ability to quickly learn about open-source libraries

  • Solution design mindset - Ability to constructively challenge business requirements, technical requirements and any other direction that is received, to ensure we are building the BEST solution

  • Work well independently as well as in team environment as situation dictates

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effective English verbal and written communication skills. Should be able to adapt to communication style to suit different audiences.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines related to group and client needs
