Your role and responsibilities

As an Application Developer specializing in Oracle OCI Migration and Modernization, you will execute lift-and-shift migrations of applications and workloads from on-premises data centers and other cloud providers into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). You will assess existing environments, map dependencies, plan migration roadmaps, and perform migrations using OCI-native and hybrid tools. Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Execute Application Migrations: Execute application and workload migrations from on-premises or multi-cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) into OCI, utilizing OCI Application Migration, Database Migration Service, Resource Manager (Terraform), and third-party tools for cross-cloud migrations.

• Perform Lift-and-Shift Migrations: Perform lift-and-shift migrations of Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebLogic, SOA, packaged apps, and custom workloads to OCI Compute, Storage, Networking, and Kubernetes.

• Assess Legacy Environments: Assess legacy environments, identify dependencies, and develop OCI migration roadmaps and cutover strategies.

• Support Data Migration: Support data migration activities with RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and secure transfer methods (OCI Data Transfer Appliance, FastConnect, VPN).

• Conduct Pre-Migration Validation: Conduct pre-migration validation, cutover execution, and post-migration testing to ensure application stability and minimal downtime.

Required technical and professional expertise

What You'll bring to the role:

• Exposure to Cloud Migration Tools: Experience with OCI Application Migration, Database Migration Service, Resource Manager (Terraform), and third-party tools for cross-cloud migrations.

• Hands-on with Oracle Technologies: Experience working with Oracle Fusion Middleware, WebLogic, SOA, and packaged apps (EBS/Seibel/PeopleSoft etc.) in on-premises or multi-cloud environments.

• Familiarity with Data Migration Methods: Exposure to data migration activities using RMAN, Data Pump, GoldenGate, and secure transfer methods (OCI Data Transfer Appliance, FastConnect, VPN).

• Understanding of Hybrid Connectivity: Experience with establishing hybrid connectivity by integrating OCI with AWS Direct Connect, Azure ExpressRoute, and GCP Interconnect.

• Knowledge of Migration Planning: Exposure to assessing legacy environments, identifying dependencies, and developing OCI migration roadmaps and cutover strategies.

Preferred technical and professional experience
