The Opportunity

This position is based in Querétaro within our Electrophysiology (EP) division, where we are advancing the treatment of heart disease through innovative medical technologies for atrial fibrillation, enabling people to restore their health and move forward with their lives.

What You’ll Do

Responsible to ensure materials, services, and supplies used in the Facility are procured at competitive pricing and that quality/quantities are appropriate. This may include obtaining price quotes, specifications and other information required for purchasing decisions. May also include supplier performance tracking and reporting. Locates, recommends and supports implementation of alternative supply in line with requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Negotiates long term contracts which are not managed by the commodity management teams, within established limitations and scope of authority to obtain the most favorable business partnerships, including but not limited to quality, availability and cost. 

  • Plans and schedules deliveries to optimize inventories in support of production schedules/business demands by working with forecasting data/teams, planning teams, commodity teams and Shipping/Receiving teams. 

  • Reviews purchase requisitions and confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery schedule, reviewing quotes for accuracy and competitive strategies  Reviews and monitors scrap material to identify systemic problems. Participates in departmental meetings to share information regarding status and condition of production materials and related, and/or new developments.

  • Facilitates vendor corrective action and partners with SQE and suppliers to improve quality.

  • Participates in Research and Development meetings, developing and implementing action plans to Support requirements bringing new products expeditiously to market.

  • Recommends pricing strategies to achieve department operating goals.

  • Creates and maintains mutually beneficial long-term partnerships with suppliers to foster feedback and continuous improvement, usually being the single source of contact for the vendor.

  • Investigates and recommends new vendors.

  • Performs as purchasing subject matter expert for internal and external customers due to extensive knowledge of purchasing and product line operations.

  • Provides coaching and mentoring to junior members of the purchasing team.

  • Monitors supplier performance, communicates and takes action to maintain high levels of supplier performance. Maintains and updates supplier databases as required.

  • Generates highly complex reports and performs data analysis to proactively plan or resolve issues.

  • Works with inventory management/warehouse management to resolve issues. 

  • Lead special projects as requested to reduce cost, increase efficiency, etc

Required Qualifications

Proven experience in direct material purchasing in manufacturing environments (minimum 5 years, 4 as Senior Buyer)

  • Includes capacity analysis, volume planning, and supplier management.

Advanced SAP expertise (purchasing)

  • Ability to execute transactions, generate reports, cancel orders, and manage critical information. Currently Using Modules ME11, ME12, M23N, M2L , MD04 , MB51

Advanced English proficiency (fluent business communication)

  • Constant interaction with U.S. teams and international suppliers.

Strategic and analytical skills to ensure supply and optimize processes

  • Includes development of business cases, risk analysis, and improvement proposals.

Solid experience in direct material purchasing (raw materials, critical components)

  • Deep knowledge of the industry and supply chain.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and ability to review SAP transactions..

  • Proficiency in SAP, specifically MRP processes.

  • Solid background in purchasing and procurement.

  • Verifiable English skills, at least at a conversational level.

  • Ability to go beyond purely operational tasks, demonstrating strong analytical skills, information interpretation, and sound decision‑making.

  • Capability to develop follow‑up plans, establish clear and measurable strategies, and execute them consistently.
