Job Description Summary
The Instrumentation Engineer has technical ownership and responsibility for instrumented systems of gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant (BOP) fluid systems.
GE Vernova is looking for a curious and driven early-career engineer to join our global Instrumentation Engineering team. You will contribute to the design and development of cutting-edge gas turbine technology that powers millions of homes and businesses worldwide — while building a strong foundation for a long-term engineering career.
As an Instrumentation Engineer, you will develop technical ownership of instrumented systems across gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, and balance of plant (BOP) fluid systems. You will ensure execution excellence through analysis, design studies, drawings, specifications, bills of material, wiring diagrams, and customer technical issue resolution.

Job Description
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
Support New Unit project execution globally, from design through customer delivery
Work across GE Vernova's full product portfolio — Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Generator, and Balance of Plant
Develop and review instrumentation drawings, wiring diagrams, bills of material, and technical specifications in GTCC PLM
Develop and review wiring diagrams in EPLAN
Manage project documentation (schematics, instrument lists, signal lists) in AVEVA
Perform analysis and design studies for instrumented fluid systems
Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and electrical engineering teams
Support customer and field technical issue resolution
Participate in design reviews and milestone discussions across the product lifecycle
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, or related Engineering discipline
Desired Characteristics
0–2 years of relevant experience (internship, co-op, or academic project experience counts)
Familiarity with instrumentation principles, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, or control systems
Experience with engineering design tools, CAD software, or PLM systems
Strong academic record in a relevant engineering discipline
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute in a fast-paced global environment
Strong communication skills — verbal, written, and across remote/global teams
