Job Description Summary
The ITR Design engineer is responsible to execute the scope for assigned accessories systems; e.g. Gas fuel, hydraulics, cooling water, valves, piping, purge, heating and ventilation (definition and technical validation through analytical tools) & for F2F scope is required to specify and design components of the Compressor, Turbine and combustion modules to ensure the right compatibility in terms of Fit, Form and Function between them. All this work is performed with the main goal of maximizing machine efficiency and warranty equipment safety and reliability.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Facilitate the design and layout of all components and systems that are auxiliaries to the main product such as piping, valves, tubes, fluid delivery and removal (fuel, lube, hydraulics), pumps, actuators, tooling, etc. PerformCombustion Studies and Process for the Heavy-Duty Gas Turbine fleet units under overhauling/maintenance.
Develop conceptual knowledge of professional discipline. May include support roles with specialized expertise or technical knowledge in broad area.
Resolve issues using established procedures. Consults supervisor or more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters.
Collaborate with others to solve issues. For customer facing roles, develops strong customer relationships and serves as the interface between customer and GE. Exchanges technical information, asks questions and checks for understanding.
Provide technical engineering support to improve or resolve design, performance, manufacturing, supplier, or field issues.
Document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies, processes and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Utilize Lean tools to improve current business products and processes.
Concurrently work on multiple projects, monitoring progress and quality, and ensuring schedule requirements are met.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other related field.
Language skills: Must be able to maintain a conversation in English.
Presentation Skills: Ability to communicate with Leadership.
Demonstrated ability in establishing common goals and objectives
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Desired Characteristics
Internship experience in mechanical design
Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Knowledge working with Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs), schematics and electrical drawings.
Knowledge creating drawings and Bill of Materials.
Familiar with ASME/ANSI/ASTM, CSA, EC codes and their application to piping, mechanical and fluid handling equipment.
