POSITION DETAILS

Queensborough Community College invites applications for the CUNY Beyond Manager, a pivotal role reporting directly to the Chief Careers and Industry Partnership Officer, responsible for advancing initiatives that seamlessly integrate career connections into the academic experience and drive the success of CUNY Beyond’s core pillars- Career Exposure & Exploration, Integrated Career Advising, Career Connected Learning, Paid Work-Based Learning and Employer Engagement.

To ensure the smooth implementation of career and academic integration, the Manager will also coordinate cross-departmental operations, including hiring operations, budget administration and fiscal operation, external relations, timely communications and reports to support seamless program delivery.

This position is funded for three years. Continuation beyond this period is contingent on program funding.

In addition to the CUNY Title Overview, duties will include, but will not be limited to:

Partner with college leadership to drive the day-to-day planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of initiatives designed to integrate career connections into academic pathways and increase student professional outcomes.

Align resources—including budgets, staffing, and technology assets—across departments to ensure smooth implementation and operational readiness.

Manage compliance and administrative workflows to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of all required documentation.

Oversee the career and academic integration initiative technology ecosystem, ensuring all platforms and applications are reliable, integrated, and optimized to support data access, reporting, and operational needs.

Lead data analysis efforts to identify trends, evaluate program effectiveness, and inform strategic decision making, producing high quality reports that demonstrate outcomes and impact.

Direct ongoing data collection, reporting, and management in coordination with Pillar Leads to maintain accurate and timely reporting pipelines.

Build, manage, and strengthen collaborative working relationships with external partners, University partners, Pillar Leads, and campus stakeholders to support successful integration of career and academic initiatives.

Collaborate with college and University communications teams to design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies that enhance campus-wide awareness, engagement, and participation in CUNY Beyond.

Partner with the Provost, Student Affairs, Student Success Programs (ASAP, BMI, and others), Advising, and all student-facing units to ensure strong student/new graduate participation in CUNY Beyond activities and maximum integration into the student experience.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree and six years' related experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in higher education, public administration, business administration, social sciences, or a related field.

  • Progressive professional experience in higher education administration, workforce development, public administration, recruitment, student success, career services, or program management.

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or projects, including planning, implementation, resource coordination, and performance monitoring.

  • Experience supervising staff, student workers, or cross-functional project teams.

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data collection, data integrity management, report preparation, and the use of data for operational or strategic decision-making.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems, student information systems, or technology platforms that support program operations and reporting.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear reports, present findings, and facilitate meetings with diverse stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners in a large, complex institution.

  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and ensure accuracy and consistency in work products.

  • Commitment to equity, access, and student success, particularly in support of career-connected learning and experiential education.

CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW

Develops and manages career development programs and services in a College of Unit and assumes a leadership role in the design and delivery of creative approaches to career education and planning.

  • Assists in unit planning, such as setting goals and objectives, and monitors status of progress toward meeting goals

  • Designs and produces outcomes assessment reports; reviews outcomes and feedback and recommends strategies to expand and improve services.

  • Directs a portfolio of targeted career programs, such as mentoring, internship, and alumni programs

  • Manages one or more aspects of career office operations, such as on-campus recruiting

  • Evaluates new technologies, assessment materials, and other career tools, makes recommendations, and acquires/implements them

  • May counsel a limited number of students

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary range is $94,909. - $102,408.

Salary commensurate with education and experience.
