Position: Relationship Manager/Senior Relationship Manager – Technology and Media – Quebec City

Employment Type: Permanent

Compensation Details :

  • Business Development 16: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $74,297 to $99,063, plus a performance-based incentive.

  • Business Development 18: Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $96,557 to $128,743, plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change) .

  • This role can be performed from EDC’s community hub in Quebec City (preferred), or Montreal.

  • Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:

Our Mid-Market Team is on the lookout for a Senior Relationship Manager to join our growing team in the Quebec City region. Reporting to the Regional Director (Quebec Technology) Mid-Market, you'll play a crucial role in executing EDC’s 2030 corporate plan. Our mission is to help entrepreneurs expand their exports, thereby boosting the Canadian economy. Your responsibilities will include prospecting, growing, maintaining, and managing a portfolio of medium-sized clients and prospects within the Quebec Technology sector.

Your role will involve researching and assessing potential EDC clients, building trust-based relationships, and determining how to positively impact their companies and markets. You'll also evaluate cross-selling opportunities, coordinate EDC resources to offer product solutions, and provide consistent customer service. Additionally, you'll promote EDC’s total value offering in the region through regular communication with financial intermediaries and other influential parties, while leveraging and expanding EDC’s global network to identify potential clients.

You will connect with some of the brightest and most talented minds in Canada and around the world as you work together to support EDC’s clients’ success.

What you will be doing:

  • Identifying and qualifying potential customers, promoting the full value proposition available to Quebec exporters for a portfolio of IP-rich medium-sized companies in the Technology and Media sector

  • Assessing export financing, risk management, or other needs and matching solutions to these needs

  • Managing an assigned portfolio of accounts, developing territory strategies and account plans

  • Monitoring the progression of designated portfolio pipelines and facilitating transactions where appropriate

  • Executing projects, initiatives, and tasks related to the market coverage mandate

  • Developing strategies and plans to ensure full market coverage of the designated territory

  • Identifying market trends and intelligence observed in the territory for developing overall regional or sector strategies

  • Serving as the knowledge base and problem-solver for prospects/clients, handling negotiation strategies, and managing interactions professionally

What we are looking for:

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, finance, commerce, or another relevant discipline

  • 2-5 years of business development and commercial lending experience in international business/financial services.

  • Experience working with technology companies, especially in digital industries, cybersecurity, AI, Deep Technology, FinTech, and media

  • Knowledge of strategic sales or account management best practices

  • Established network in the Quebec technology sector relevant to EDC’s mandate

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French and English

  • A valid driver’s license

What will make you stand out:

  • Bilingualism (English & French)

  • Business development experience in commercial banking

  • Relevant work experience or keen interest in Canada’s technology sector

  • Knowledge of bank credit and lending practices along with equity solutions

  • Knowledge of international business practices and international trade

  • MBA, CITP (Certified International Trade Professional) or CBCA (Commercial Banking & Credit Analyst) designation
