We now have a PERMANENT full-time role based in SYDNEY for an experienced Studio Operator.
What youll do as a Studio Operator:
A Studio Operator Level 2 is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the studio, primarily performing the role of Floor Manager and Autocue Operator. They ensure the studio space and equipment is prepared, maintained, and operated efficiently during live and pre-recorded programs while maintaining a professional, organised, and safe studio environment.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
Being the communication link between the director, presenters, guests and studio floor crew
Co-ordinating studio floor activity including talent positioning and camera movement
Supporting presenters and guests by providing clear guidance and reassurance during rehearsals and broadcasts
Managing last-minute production changes calmly and effectively
Communicating technical needs or limitations clearly and professionally
Operating studio teleprompting equipment
Formatting and managing scripts using newsroom computer systems (currently iNews)
Printing and distribution of scripts as required
Operating studio talkback equipment
Assisting talent with microphones and earpieces
Supporting the wider studio operations and 10 News production teams
Working on a rostered shift basis including night and weekend patterns
Maintaining a safe studio environment by ensuring cables, rigs, and equipment are secure and hazard-free
What are we looking for in a Studio Operator? Whats important?
This role is at a level where we require someone with similar experience in TV production.
Youll bring:
Demonstrated experience working as a television floor manager
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build effective working relationships
Experience operating studio equipment
Proven ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines
Multitask in a fast-paced environment
Availability to work a rotating roster which includes mornings, evenings and weekends as required
Preferred by not essential
Experience with iNews and/or Autoscript WinPlus-IP prompting software and hardware
Basic studio camera skills
