FTE: .3, Shift: 7p-7a, Schedule: 12-hour shifts, rotating weekends Position Summary The Resource Transport Nurse uses their advanced skills and training to assess, monitor and perform a variety of intervening procedures for patients during intra-facility transports as directed by the physician. You will make safety the paramount priority and use your exceptional communication, documention and reporting skills to support all inpatient departments throughout the hospital that care for the adult population, as well as inpatients holding in the Emergency Department. Responsibilities Provides cardiac monitoring and interpretation of normal, expected abnormal, and abnormal Responds to expected or unexpected changes in patient rhythm with appropriate assessment, intervention, and notification Identifies and responds to patient condition deterioration with appropriate assessment, intervention, and notification Acts as a resource to patient care providers for clinical decisions and the provision of direct patient care. Communicates and collaborates, as appropriate, with physicians and other clinical disciplines in making decisions regarding each patient's care needs. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with patient care providers, management, and physicians. Provides direct nursing care and assistance in special procedures such as establishment of patient airway, procedural sedation, lumbar punctures, thoracentesis, central line insertion, chest tube insertion, and vascular access. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Nursing, or obtained within five (5) years from the initial date of hire; RN with 15+ years of service or internal candidates hired before January 1, 2021 may be considered in satisfaction of this requirement in lieu of an education agreement Two (2) years of PCU, High Acuity Telemetry or ICU experience Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse license in Washington State or Multistate License endorsement (MLS) Current BLS Certification ACLS required Procedural Sedation Certification preferred NIHSS Certification Stroke and Trauma continuing education About Good Samaritan Hospital MultiCare Good Samaritan Hospital is a 388-bed acute-care hub serving Puyallup and East Pierce County.
