Job Title: IT Security Architect and Technical Lead
Location: Puyallup, WA (Remote)
Type: Contract
Compensation: $93.36 - $105.00 per hour
Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, and integration of Emerson / AspenTech’s Digital Grid Management (DGM) solutions for utility clients.
Architect end-to-end solutions including SCADA, DMS, OMS, and integrations with GIS, AMI, Distributed Automation, and enterprise systems.
Define control center configurations, system topologies, high-availability architectures, and disaster recovery strategies.
Support delivery of ADMS, OMS, and DERMS projects through solution design, system integration, configuration, testing, and go-live support.
Integrate ADMS/OMS with existing utility systems such as SOM, SCADA, GIS, and SAP for seamless data flow and operational efficiency.
Lead configuration and data migration efforts of OMS & ADMS systems, ensuring accurate modeling of real-time power system conditions.
Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and workshop facilitation to project teams and stakeholders.
Oversee configuration, testing, and commissioning of Emerson/AspenTech solutions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and cybersecurity best practices.
Develop comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, procedures, and security controls.
Address complex technical issues, troubleshoot system challenges, and identify enhancements for grid automation capabilities.
Collaborate with vendors and clients to ensure solution compatibility and optimal performance.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Minimum of 7+ years of experience as an Architect with Emerson/AspenTech ADMS/OMS implementations.
Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a Technical Lead in utility control center environments.
In-depth knowledge of Emerson / AspenTech’s Digital Grid Management platform, especially Monarch-based systems.
Experience with system configurations of ADMS, OMS, and Data Migrations.
Proficiency in interface development and integration with SCADA, GIS, SAP, and similar systems.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and cloud solutions such as AWS.
Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, NERC CIP compliance, and grid automation enhancements.
Emerson/AspenTech certification or equivalent experience as DSP (preferred).
Proven leadership in managing technical teams and projects, with effective communication skills.
