Windward Outdoor CNC Programmer / Operator (Polymer) in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania

Job Summary

Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to cut and machine components for marine-grade polymer and HDPE product lines. This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and quality in production while supporting schedules and maintaining material optimization.

Essential Job Functions

.Program, set up, and operate CNC machine to cut marine-grade polymer and HDPE components to specification

.Interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine cutting and machining requirements

.Perform machine setup including tooling selection, bit changes, offsets, and program adjustments

.Monitor machine operation to ensure parts meet dimensional accuracy and quality standards

.Inspect finished parts using measuring tools such as calipers, tape measures, and gauges

.Optimize programs for efficiency, material yield, and reduced scrap

.Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine issues to maintain production flow

.Manage material usage and nesting to maximize yield of polymer sheets

.Ensure parts are produced in required volume and delivered on time to downstream departments

.Perform basic preventative maintenance and cleaning of CNC equipment

.Maintain clean, safe, and organized work area

.Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE at all time

.Support ERP system usage, job tracking, and production documentation

.Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Minimum Qualifications

.2-5+ years of CNC programming and/or operating experience

.Experience with CNC routers or similar equipment preferred (MGP experience a plus)

.Experience working with plastics, polymer, or HDPE materials preferred

.Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

.Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, and setup processes

.Experience with measuring tools and quality inspection methods

.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills

.Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment

.Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English

.Forklift certification required or ability to obtain; must be able to safely move and handle material using forklift equipment

Physical Requirements

.Standing for extended periods (more than 2/3 of workday)

.Frequent use of hands for handling tools, materials, and machine controls

.Frequent reaching, bending, and lifting

.Ability to lift 25 lbs. regularly and up to 50 lbs. occasionally

.Ability to perform repetitive tasks throughout shift

.Indoor manufacturing / production environment

.Loud noise levels requiring hearing protection

.Non-climate-controlled workspace with exposure to heat and cold

.Exposure to plastic dust, chips, and machining materials
