The team you will be a part of
The Engineering team discovers, develops and evaluates new product ideas, enhancements, or strategic product extensions, and translates research discoveries into usable and marketable products. Leads, plans and tracks all phases of the product life cycle, from inception to introduction into the marketplace. Coordinates with various functions to ensure successful product development and implementation.
This role in summary
PURPOSE: The position is responsible to execute Cost and Quality delivery, strategy, operational responsibility for his/ her function. Execute departmental plans, guided by resource availability and functional objectives. Accountable for the GTEC Commercial Laundry team’s results, budget, and performance. Provides technical guidance. Exhibits technical knowledge with a broad scope at a program/project or subsystem level.
Your responsibilities will include
- Estimate resource requirements for parts or projects, identify critical milestones, and develop
schedules.
- Should have experience in leading C&Q NPD, Model line and Product range extension
projects.
Manage Commercial Laundry projects from concept to execution using Product Development Process.
Resource management for project allocation.
Well-versed with System Engineering, DFSS, Product verification & validation (Testing, FEA
simulations) methodologies.
Coach and mentor team members on a systematic problem-solving approach.
Investigate problems and recommend solutions relating to product design and documentation.
Lead various builds starting from the inception of the project, and provide support in solving Build
Problems through Root Cause Analysis.
Lead Continuous Improvement via Design/Process Optimization Feedback - Provide feedback
to the design community for Continuous Improvement & Process/Design Optimization.
- Understand and make sure the product meets design for safety, reliability, manufacturing,
assembly, and robustness requirements
- Work closely with regional and global stakeholders, and participate in design reviews and technical
forums.
- Evaluate, and recommend the developed concepts in terms of engineering, and manufacturing and
suggest best concepts, the priority of selection, and other trade-offs if necessary.
- Coordinate and effectively communicate the Design Concepts with different stakeholders
during Project/ Design Reviews
Apply DFx( DFA, DFM, DFR, DFS, DFSS), methodologies in Design and resolve design issues.
Good knowledge of FMEA, WPD & PMI
Leads/contributes/accountable towards systematic problem solving to close knowledge gaps
as applicable.
- Ensure comprehensive scoping of projects/ideas, planning to enable execution of the agreed
plan and achieve cost, quality, and performance targets using project management tools/
methodology.
- Supports/Leads attribute target setting for the subsystem/module for specific projects
Minimum requirements
Education: B.Tech-Mech/ M.Tech-Design
Experience: 6 to 10 Years
Experts in Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE), VAVE/ AVS Certified.
Six Sigma tools and their applications (Certified Green or Black Belt)
Experts in 8D, A3, DFMEA, DVP&R
Knowledge of CAD tools (Creo 2.0 or 4.0), PLM Software- Windchill
Design for Variation (GD&T and Tolerance stack up analysis)
Experts in Project management tools (PMP trained /certified)
TECHNICAL
Project Management – Ability to lead/close multiple projects at the same time
Six Sigma Trained/ Certified
Conceptual & Analytical Skills
Strong consumer orientation
Customer Centricity
Very Strong communication and presentation skills
Key Deliverables
Build capability within a team by identifying competency gaps and driving actions to close.
Deliver results as per Organizational goals and KPIs
