BU / FUNCTION DESCRIPTION
Transportation solutions BU makes products for Connecting and Sensing Data, Power and Signal for vehicles ranging from Two wheelers to Heavy Commercial trucks. TS India operates out of 2 Manufacturing plants in Pune, Sales offices in Pune, Noida and Chennai and a Global engineering team in Bangalore. The total team strength is of 3,500 employees. There is a clear business strategy till 2025 to support the business growth. The growth is driven mainly driven from localization of Core India Specific products and also New technology products.
The above position has been created to lead a team of Mechanical Designers, Electrical Automation Engineers in the Operations team to define the process and build the machines needed to make the new products in line with the strategy map and market demand.
ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Position has been created to be part of a team of NPD team that develops Process and Equipment for Mass Production of Automotive Electrical Head Mechanical Designers and Technicians of Manufacturing Engg team. The role requires Person who can define the Manufacturing process and build the machines needed to make the new products in line with the strategy map and market demand of TS India.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to work with a team of engineers for delivering Special Purpose machinery to the Plant NPD team for execution of all new projects as per agreed APQP timelines
End to End responsible for capturing the voice of Customers and All Stakeholder requirements of the product and then Buy/Build the machine to meet the expectations
Train and Coach the team to build the M.E Capability.
Improve the process to reduce CoPQ and improve OEE, by quality, uptime and productivity
Identify Automation and Cost Saving opportunities on Existing production lines and deliver realization
EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE
Technical Degree B.E – Mechanical
Knowledge in PLC control would be an added advantage
CRITICAL EXPERIENCE
Experience working in medium or large matrix organizations.
Hands on Experience in designing and building Header assembly machines, Complex Automation machines for Automotive industry.
Mechanical and Pneumatic systems trouble shooting
Updated knowledge on process control systems and EOL testing.
COMPETENCIES
Project costing and process developments.
Mechanical systems trouble shooting and Design
CAD Software ( Creo ,Pro E, AutoCAD)
Corrective actions implementation and validation
MOTIVATIONAL/CULTURAL FIT
Should have ability to think out of the box and solve problems.
Should be capable to take decisions and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
