Primary Purpose of Job:
Contribute to the ongoing growth of STANTEC ResourceNet Private India Ltd by providing technical expertise in the community development sector, as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering conceptual design, outline design, detailed design and construction support for various infrastructure projects across the STANTEC offices (United Kingdom, North America, Middle East, Asia Pacific, etc.). To be involved in the implementation and delivery of leading-edge programmes and projects.
Support project managers/team leaders by providing technical support to ensure that project outcomes in terms of budget, schedule, technical and quality standards, meet both the client and STANTEC expectations.
Key Accountabilities:
Knowledge of Codes and Standards – loads, load paths and design
Seismic and Wind load calculations and analysis (preferable)
Structural design and Analysis
Knowledge of concrete and steel structures – design
Preparation of technical reports/ drawings
Preparation of Bill of Quantities
Work with the CAD team for quality delivery
Ensure compliance with Stantec’s quality management process
Proactive liaison with regional Clients to manage service expectations and commitments
Carry out other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor/management,
Need to work off-hours for client co-ordination: Occasionally
Bring value by meaningful contribution to internal design team meetings; share experiences, make design suggestions, question evolving design intents etc.
Person Specifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering AND OR Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
3+ years of experience for Bachelor’s degree. Minimum experience of 1+ years is preferable for Mtech candidates (freshers can apply).
Experience in Analysis and design of reinforced concrete and structural steel, various infrastructure project components including commercial, and industrial developments and difficult foundation situations.
Understanding of the engineering principles, fundamental structural analysis and design concepts
Exposure in design using US, BS, Euro, AS/NZ, Canadian codes (preferable)
Hands-on experience of using software like ETABS, STAAD-Pro, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Foundations and other structural analysis tools like MATHCAD, Excel worksheets, EnerCalc, L-pile, if any
Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation preferred
Experience in Data / Document management system - ProjectWise, BIM360
Innovative, result-oriented, provide ideas and work on them
General knowledge of construction techniques and practices, construction management
Understanding to analyze, assess, evaluate the issues, complexity pertaining to projects/work packages and support the project leads in mitigating them in advance
Competent level of baseline skills, i.e. professional and confident with the essential, basic business and communication skills that are required for career growth in all positions
Rigorous attention to detail, able to understand and adopt workflows and commitment to personal professional development
Demonstrated leadership ability and ability to work collaboratively with all levels of staff and technical specialists
Flexible attitude to accepting different work assignments and pro-active attitude to execution/delivery
