Aggreko Category Lead - Direct Procurement in Pune, India
Bring your energy to Aggreko as Category Lead – Direct Procurement based in Pune. you will support the establishment of a new supply base in India for the most strategic component parts that will be supplied into Aggreko’s forthcoming manufacturing facility and the Global Procurement Hub.

Role Overview: The role will drive the assessment, negotiation, onboarding and the strategic management of key suppliers for Aggreko’s manufacturing facility and global procurement hub. You will be commercially astute and have experience of strategic sourcing, contracting and performance management. The role would work closely alongside both the pre-existing strategic, global Directs team and the newly formed Indian Procurement team.
What you’ll do as Category Lead:
Strategic Supplier Management: Identify, negotiate with, and develop strategic in-country suppliers to build a robust local supply base for core product parts in India.
Contractual Frameworks & Category Strategy: Establish, negotiate, and manage contractual agreements to ensure quality, cost-effective, and reliable supply, while developing and implementing aligned category strategies.
Supplier Performance & Risk Mitigation: Regularly benchmark and manage supplier performance through formal onboarding and monitoring, mitigating supply risks by developing alternative sources.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, GST frameworks, and import/export documentation requirements (including DGFT norms).
Ethical Sourcing: Drive ethical sourcing practices in line with Aggreko’s ESG standards and Supplier Code of Conduct.
You’ll have the following skills and experience:
Over 8 years of experience in direct procurement, strategic sourcing, or supply chain management, with a proven ability to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment while maintaining a collaborative and solutions‑focused mindset.
Strong commercial acumen with deep knowledge of the Indian supply base for electrical and mechanical components, enabling effective supplier evaluation, negotiation, and cost optimisation.
Global stakeholder management capability, with the ability to work seamlessly with teams across Aggreko’s international footprint, demonstrating cultural awareness, adaptability, and strong relationship‑building skills.
Clear, authentic, and inclusive communication style, with the ability to navigate a rapidly evolving business landscape while ensuring consistent performance against defined KPIs such as supplier onboarding, cost variance, and contractual compliance.
Educational background in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline; an MBA or postgraduate qualification is preferred.
