Honeywell Advanced Systems Engr in Pune City, India
The key expectation is to combine traditional process engineering and plant operations expertise with advanced digital and analytical skills to drive efficiency, innovation, and safety. Project domains - Chemical / Refinery / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas customers of Honeywell within & outside India.
We are seeking a Process Engineer to focus on operational optimization solutions based on AI for our customers utilizing the Experion DCS system. The ideal candidate will act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and collaborate closely with Data Scientists and Experion System Engineers to define and validate the solutions.
Active contribution in customer workshop to define problems/probable solutions, working with Data engineers, Data scientists to engineer the solution, interface with Honeywell product development as needed during product feature enhancement/ validation. Needs to travel to customer locations to perform workshop, deployment, testing of the solutions.
- Expectations in this role:
Lead the workshops : Review the plant operation; Drive to define operational problems/ probable solutions with customers; Prepare reports.
Define problems using data : Perform Data Analysis - history, Alarm & Events, P&ID, PFD, Graphics and define impacted parameters and corelated parameters. (eg. Instruments/ equipment’s contributing to a particular Alarm, Define critical operating parameters, define Alarm Rationalization)
Define Equipment to Equipment to Instrument relation : Using P&ID and PFD, define process relationship, Its impact on upstream and Downstream
Validate Strategy : Validate strategy defined by Data Scientist and align with before proceeding with AI Models.
Validate AI Model outcome: Validate AI Model outcome based on historical data or process Simulation (DCS or OTS) data.
Customer Testing:
Reports: Review fortnightly or monthly usage/feedback from customer and share a report about effectiveness.
Optimization: Work with product development team for any feature improvements, Validation and rectifying any issues in the product.
Offline : Review and Test solution by simulation on DCS System along with Customer.
Onsite: Deploy onsite and demonstrate the results to customer operations team along with DCS System Engineer.
- Qualification: BE / B. Tech Chemical or Petrochemical
Experience : 8 to 10 yrs of experience in process plant (Chemical / Oil & Gas / refinery/ Petrochemical)
Technical Skills :
Must have plant operation experience (Predictive or preventive maintenance), Incident Investigation Root Cause Analysis (process trip, equipment failure), Startup shutdown experience
Must have experience with Process plant equipment (pump compressor s column reactors furnace valve transmitters) operation (Start/ stop/trip/ shutdown/ sequence/ interlocks/ alarms/ safety)
Must have experience in Process Abnormalities management (detection / prediction /recovery procedure guidance & implementation)
Detailed process Knowledge, Plant Procedures, Safety, Process Control, Alarm Rationalization & Optimization – Alarm Management, Design & Simulation
Preparation of Standard Operation (SOP) & Maintenance procedures
Knowledge of P&ID, PFD, Interlocks, Control Narratives, Operation Philosophy
Exposure to distributed control systems (DCS) and safety instrumented systems (SIS) as a user / configuration/ integration/ simulation
Exposure to below will be added advantage
Data Historian (Aspen21 or IP21 or PHD or RTDBMS) and Analytics
APM
APC (Advanced Process Control)
Alarm Management
Knowledge of Process simulation/OTS will be added advantage
Soft Skills :
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively translate complex technical concepts between process operators, engineers from other disciplines, and data scientists.
Data Analytical mindset
The willingness to adopt iterative, flexible development processes to keep pace with rapid technological advancements
As a subject matter expert, you will provide technical leadership to other engineers, fostering a collaborative and learning-oriented environment
Must be ready to learn different process plants and work on those solutions.
