Position Details:
The Opportunity:
The Residential Education Director is a full-time, 10.5 month, live-in professional appointment overseeing the management of a residence hall community of 145 - 600 residents. Depending on hall assignment, responsibilities include, but are not limited to: supervision of paraprofessional staff, administration of special programs (academic initiatives, theme and living learning community hall programming, Honors programs, etc.), adjudicating housing policy/contract violations, personal counseling, programming, budget development and management, community development, hall government advising, crisis management and conflict resolution, committee work, collateral assignments within the Student Affairs, as well as, emergency on-call responsibilities.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime exempt.
Temporary End Date:
This is a temporary position expected to end June 2027. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary:
$4,613.82 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
plus $250 monthly on-call stipend,
plus $1,523 monthly perquisite allowance for room and board
In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree and two (2) academic years of relevant residence hall leadership, paraprofessional or group living experience and demonstrated experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A Master's degree in College Student Personnel/Higher Education Administration/Counseling Psychology or a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of experience.
• Must be willing and able to keep regular hours and work some evenings and weekends.
• Must be willing and able to live in the assigned residence hall and respond to after hours emergencies as needed. Due the requirement to live on campus, this position is exempt from the Washington Minimum Wage Act in accordance with Revised Code of Washington (RCW) 49.46.010(3)(j).
