Position Details:
The Opportunity:
As a Research Intern (RI) for Washington State University's Department of Crop and Soil Sciences, you will be responsible for performing tasks related to perennial grain research (70%) as well as additional tasks within the Western Wheat Quality Lab (WWQL) (30%). You will weigh flour and perform flour analyses as directed by your supervisor, and you will also carry out grain quality measurements. These tests require basic knowledge of chemistry and biology. You will be expected to keep accurate records of all tests performed and report those records in the proper format as specified by your supervisor.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible.
Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on March 31st, 2027. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment.
Monthly Salary: $3,379.14 - $4,862.67 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent related field experience performing professional-level work with scientific or clinical research protocols. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
• Experimental and analytical skills; understanding and knowledge of research theory; interviewing experience; excellent organizational and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree.
• One year experience in relevant research field of study.
