The Opportunity:
As a Plumber/Pipefitter/Steamfitter - Fire Sprinkler Fitter with advanced plumbing and electronics knowledge, you'll play a critical role in keeping our buildings and facilities safe and fully operational.
In this position, you will:
• Use your journeyman-level plumbing, pipefitting, and welding skills to maintain and repair building infrastructure.
• Take ownership of fire and life safety systems-you'll inspect, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarms, suppression systems, and sprinkler systems to ensure everything works flawlessly.
• Apply your electronics expertise to diagnose and resolve fire alarm issues quickly and accurately.
• Interpret blueprints and schematics with confidence, ensuring every system meets safety and performance standards.
• Work independently and as part of a team to keep our facilities running smoothly and safely.

Additional Information:
This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.
Monthly Salary: $5,398 to $6,259 | Range 51G (Steps G - M) | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications: ?
• Completion of a recognized apprenticeship as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter OR full journey status as a plumber/pipefitter/steamfitter in a union OR four years applicable work experience.
• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/ and departmental driving standards.
• Ability to respond to the worksite on a 24-hour basis.
