Position Details:

 

The Opportunity:

 

As the Custodian 1 for the Auxiliary Facilities Services?, you will perform custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and care of facilities within residence halls/apartments/dining under general supervision. You must be willing and able to perform duties associated with commercial cleaning, painting, spackling, wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including operating industrial type cleaning equipment such as high speed buffers, burnishes, shampooers, and vacuum cleaners. In this role, you will clean restrooms, classrooms, residence halls, offices and/or similar facilities, as well as move heavy items such as tables, furniture, cleaning equipment, supplies, and other related cleaning devices. This position requires the ability to physically bend, stoop, lift and move items weighing up to approximately 50 pounds; to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift and climb and stand on ladders.

 

In this position, you may work any of the following hours, dependent upon the departmental needs: Monday - Friday, Tuesday - Saturday or Sunday - Thursday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, 7:30 to 4:00 pm, 8 am to 4:30 pm, unscheduled work week, early mornings, swing, late evening, and weekend shifts.

 

Additional Information:

 

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

 

Monthly Salary: $3,132 to $4,119 | Range 34 | Steps A - M | Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=357-28

 

In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Must have, or be able to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver's license and meet requirements in accordance with https://policies.wsu.edu/prf/index/manuals/safety-policies-procedures-manual/sppm-7-10/#four_3 and departmental driving standards.
