Position Details:

 

The Opportunity: The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in supporting Human Resource Services by providing high-level administrative, operational, and customer service support. Serving as a key point of contact for the HRS office, this position manages daily office functions, supports departmental initiatives, and assists with personnel and fiscal processes through Workday. The role requires strong judgment and discretion in handling confidential matters, interpreting policies and procedures, and responding to inquiries from university stakeholders, while ensuring a professional and welcoming experience for all clients.

This is a full-time (100% FTE), permanent position. This position is overtime eligible.

 

This position is located on the WSU Pullman campus in Pullman, Washington.

 

Monthly Salary: $3,495 to $4,653 | Range 39

 

Successful candidates are typically hired at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=357-28.

 

In accordance with https://app.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • High school diploma or equivalent AND one year of clerical, office or administrative experience OR Equivalent education/experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office and Outlook software.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience providing customer service.

     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent editing/proofreading skills.

Experience working with confidential records.

Demonstrated experience using Workday (HR, Payroll, Time & Absence, or Recruiting modules).

Experience reconciling a purchasing card and processing travel reimbursements
