Description
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Accountant to support our client on a contract basis with the potential for a permanent position in Pulaski, New York. This role is pivotal in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the month-end closing process while supporting key accounting operations. Ideal candidates will bring expertise in accounting systems, financial reconciliation, and reporting, particularly within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee and execute the month-end closing process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy.
• Conduct account and bank reconciliations to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial accuracy.
• Utilize SAP and Excel to analyze financial data and create detailed reports.
• Collaborate with internal teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
• Review financial statements and ensure all entries align with company policies and procedures.
• Provide support for audits by preparing necessary documentation and reports as needed.
• Train and guide team members on best practices in accounting operations, if required.
Requirements • Proven experience in month-end close, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.
• Strong knowledge of account and bank reconciliations, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in SAP and advanced Excel functions, including formulas and data analysis.
• Prior experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
