Position: Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop
Requirements: We require one month of recent and verifiable experience within the past two years working in diversified crops, handling manual and mechanical tasks, including agricultural field work. This position requires a minimum of one month for the employee to get a full understanding of the job and responsibilities. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken and written in the workplace.
Job Description: Pre-harvest activities: weeding and driving tractor. Harvesting pumpkins includes: cutting pumpkins off the vine, cleaning the dirt off the pumpkins, putting in rows, sorting by size, applying stickers to pumpkins by size, grading for quality, and loading into boxes on trailers. Harvesting chili peppers includes: pick chili peppers off the vine and put into 1 bushel sack and loaded onto the trailer. Irrigate fields. Must be able to lift and carry 50 lb boxes. Must be able to bend and stoop throughout the day. Work is to be done for long periods of time and requires repetitive motion and extensive walking. Workers are exposed to wet weather and the heat of the day working in the fields. Workers may be required to work during occasional showers not severe enough to stop field operations. Care must be taken to prevent damaging produce. Irrigating crops, setting and removing sprinklers, running wheel lines, driving equipment, operating pivots, flood irrigating, moving portable sprinklers, and installing drip tape. Irrigation workers will walk behind a tractor in between furrows at a steady pace, either unloading or loading irrigation pipes (25 lbs) 100% of the job.
Anticipated Hours of Work Per Week: 40hrs per week.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

Effective 1/1/25: Overtime must be paid after 48 hours/week, or 56 hours/week for up to 22 "peak weeks" for highly seasonal employers
