General Summary
The Engine Technical Representative serves as primary technical advisor for engine and related systems in supporting internal and external customers with technical services, troubleshooting, pre-delivery training and customer service issues. This position supports Sales and Engineering teams with technical data needed in preparing quotes and researches and resolves engine and related systems integration issues; and partners with the Professional Development team to develop and deliver technical training. The representative leads and/or participates with special projects as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
Provides technical advice and troubleshooting assistance to team members, customers and manufacturers for engine installations and system operations. Assists with engine systems repair. Coordinates with Engine project managers for work authorizations and with manufacturers, management, and shop team members to recommend and resolve customers' warranty issues.
Provides engine and engine systems OJT to technicians and familiarization training to customers. Assists Professional Development team with developing and conducting technical training for internal and external customers. Writes technical briefs regularly.
Recommends and initiates measures to improve quality, procedures, efficiency and working conditions. Identifies, researches and recommends engine tooling and equipment needs.
Supports sales team with quotes and sales proposals by providing technical guidance for engine systems capabilities and integration issues. Promotes engine services to customers by identifying and recommending products and services.
Develops and fosters relationships with OEM technical representatives. Assists management with monitoring and maintaining compliance with airframe service center requirements. Promotes Duncan Aviation services through industry interaction including attending conventions and tradeshows, customer visits, intelli-conferences, preparing newsletter and tele-fax articles, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned by management.
Job Specific Requirements
Licenses/Certificates: Airframe and Powerplant Certificate required; valid driver's license and acceptable driving record; QI designation; RII eligible
Attendance: Regularly scheduled attendance required; overnight and short notice travel
Physical: Routinely lifts up to 50 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.; reads small print; hears sounds associated with mechanical deficiencies; repetitive motion; works with moving parts and vibration; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with component maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet; tolerates standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and sitting
Environmental: Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and in noisy environments
Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent required
Eight years related engine/airframe maintenance experience required
