Supply & Logistics Lead
This position supports the Physical Facilities Division and the entire BYU Campus by providing time sensitive and immediate material acquisition and procurement services for any campus need, both academic and auxiliary, including all in-house construction and maintenance projects. The position is responsible for maintaining the campus wide delivery of all custodial supplies. The position also assists the supervision and controls the over million-dollar warehouse inventory (directly overseeing $500,000 in custodial inventory), campus expeditor services, customer service operations, and related billing functions
What you'll do in this position:
Material and Supply Procurement, Acquisition and Inventory Control
Order and receive inventory
Manage and maintain appropriate levels of inventory.
Help staff assist customers in finding the correct materials
Ensure inventory is charged to the correct customer, job or organization.
Maintain high customer service and relationships with the academic community and other shop employees and vendors
Provides and maintains superior and effective vendor relations to ensure effective and mutually beneficial working relationships
Assists with department purchasing card transactions and maintains accurate billing
Train and mentor student employees in various inventory controls, counting, and expeditor responsibilities.
Oversee regular deliveries and pick up of supplies to all necessary campus areas
Manage the preventative maintenance program for all warehouse equipment (e.g. forklifts, vehicles, hand trucks, etc.) and coordinate and school with BYU shops and outside vendors to schedule repairs as needed

What qualifies you for this role:
Required
A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
3 years' experience in warehousing or materials procurement, foundational knowledge of custodial supplies, equipment, and processes. 1 year of supervisory experience
Sound Microsoft Excel understanding (e.g. data analysis tools, macros, basic programming)
Inventory management systems or database experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to organize vast arrays of data
Demonstrated management, leadership, hiring and training experience
Knowledge of construction, equipment, and practices
Significant material acquisition, ordering and procurement experience
Competence and working knowledge of products and materials used in construction and maintenance of large institutions
High degree of competency in the areas of customer service and vendor relations
Leadership skill, ability to supervise and train student and/or part-time employees
Good emotional/interpersonal intelligence
Physical Exam and Lift Test Required
Physical Effort
Moderate -- Physical effort represented by frequent handling of medium weight objects (approx. 20-50 lbs.) and materials, or use of medium weight hand tools. May require climbing and working from ladders or in awkward positions. Relocate 50 lbs. of materials multiple times per day

Physical Requirements
Lift, move, and organize inventory, materials, and supplies for extended periods; use gloves and closed-toe shoes for safety.
Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, and vehicles safely; eye, hearing, and hand protection are required.
Perform tasks including loading/unloading deliveries, reaching, walking, bending, and climbing; gloves and appropriate footwear recommended.
Assist customers and staff in locating materials while maintaining a safe work nvironment; use PPE as necessary, including gloves, closed-toe shoes, and eye protection.
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree with 4 years' experience in warehousing or procurement. 2 years Supervisory experience, and expansive knowledge of BYU Custodial chemicals, equipment, and processes
Forklift and Box Truck Certifications
Pay Grade: 50
Typical Starting Pay:
$25.00 to $32.50/hourly
$52,500.00 to $68,000.00 annually
The actual compensation offered will take into consideration internal equity and may vary based on the candidate's job-related experience, knowledge, skills, and other relevant factors. Candidates with very significant work-related experience may receive an offer higher than the posted typical range.
