Provo City is looking for a part-time Recreation Lead to work with the Special Events team at the Provo Recreation Center. This position is responsible for assisting the Special Events Coordinator in preparing for, marketing, and managing the various activities and events provided by the Recreation Center to the public. What is the compensation?
Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour

What will I do?
Organize, schedule, implement, and evaluate assigned recreational special events.
Develop registration forms, policies, and practices in collaboration with operations staff.
Establish and maintain schedules.
Identify and report performance issues to supervisor.
Provide informational feedback on event participation level and effectiveness.
Solicit information from program participants.
Post event notices and updates across platforms.
Create digital, print, and graphic materials aligned with brand guidelines.
Manage and schedule social media content.
Supervise volunteers as needed.
Assist other staff members and the public as needed and perform other related duties as required.
What qualifications do I need to apply?
High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
Any experience that demonstrates an ability to perform the work.
A valid, lawful Driver License may be required.
Event-planning experience preferred.
Social media and marketing experience preferred.
What is the schedule?
Monday through Saturday. Flexible hours with actual schedule to be determined by the hiring manager. 15 hours per week. Event days are required.
What are the physical and environmental factors?
This position requires office work and outdoor recreation work with sun and some adverse weather exposure. May include exposure to high-stress situations or environments , including contact with the public in confrontational or uncomfortable circumstances. Requires the ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
What is the selection process?
Applications will be reviewed in the order they are submitted, with the first screening being held on April 20, 2026. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications listed above to be eligible for consideration.
If selected for hire, candidate will be required to successfully pass a drug screen and criminal background check. Non-disclosure may result in dismissal. Applicants with unsatisfactory drug screen results will be ineligible for appointment or application to any Provo City position for a minimum period of six (6) months.
