UNITED WAY OF UTAH COUNTY Digital Literacy AmeriCorps Summer Associate in PROVO, Utah

Overview:  

Since 2012, we've been addressing the growing digital divide in our community by providing free digital literacy training to Utah County residents. Supported by community partners, cities, and organizations, our program has equipped hundreds of residents with essential digital skills, job application expertise, computer access, and the confidence to succeed in today's technology-driven world. 

As our Digital Literacy Summer Associate, you'll help build and maintain sustainable systems for volunteer engagement, program delivery, and community outreach to ensure the long-term success of this program. This position focuses on launching new seasonal workshops---including AI for Beginners and Parental Internet Safety---to ensure our community stays educated in a technology-driven world. 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

*Summer Workshop Coordination (AI & Internet Safety) * 

  • Establish the schedule and community locations for the "AI for Beginners" and "Parental Internet Safety" summer series.

``` - Develop creative marketing materials and coordinate student recruitment specifically for these summer courses.

``` - Lead the workshop sessions, organize logistical needs (device setup, "Welcome Packs"), and collect student feedback to measure impact.

``` - Develop a ClickUp workspace for these workshops so they can be easily reproduced by future teams every year. 

Cross-Functional Team Support 

  • Assist the Program Systems Coordinator in a mid-summer inventory audit and testing sessions to ensure hardware is ready for the fall semester.

``` - Support the Program Development Coordinator to build a pipeline of volunteers and students for the upcoming fall classes.

``` - Collaborate with the Intern to ensure all summer materials are properly filed and accessible for Russian and Spanish-speaking participants. 

Qualifications: 

  • Interest in emerging technologies such as AI

``` - Ability to manage a project from "idea" to "launch" within a short 10-week window

``` - Valid Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle for use during working hours

``` - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; willingness to learn new software

``` - Strong organizational and project management skills

``` - Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

``` - Experience in community outreach, education, or nonprofit work is a plus

``` - Ability to work effectively with people from diverse backgrounds

``` - Passion for digital literacy and community engagement 

```{=html}

``` - Spanish language skills is a plus 

Position Details: 

Schedule: 40 hours/week 

Duration:  June 1st -- August 9th
