We are seeking an Assistant Relationship Officer to join Zions Bancorporation’s Commercial Banking team. The Assistant Relationship Officer plays a key role in analyzing, interpreting, and presenting financial and credit data to determine client creditworthiness. This position is responsible for reviewing and initiating loan documents, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and supporting relationship managers in client interactions and credit recommendations. You will assist with collection efforts, customer problem resolution, and provide exceptional service to clients and team leaders. This role is vital to enabling the success of the bank by supporting loan growth and maintaining portfolio quality. Responsibilities:
Analyze, interpret, investigate, and present financial data, tax information, and credit documentation for credit decisions
Review and initiate loan documents for legal and structural compliance with policies and regulations
Place calls to clients to enhance underwriting and credit analysis
Assist with collection efforts and resolve customer issues
Consult with relationship managers and portfolio managers to prepare customer information for credit review and loan presentations
Serve as backup relationship manager and support loan officers/team leaders in customer service
Assist with basic and mid-sized loans, including disbursement of funds
Provide recommendations for credits and loan presentations
Maintain portfolio quality through due diligence and ongoing responsibilities
Qualifications:
Some experience in loan processes, credit, credit analysis, documentation, or directly related experience
Basic knowledge of credit, credit analysis, and experience with various types of loans
Ability to meet deadlines, audit documentation, and solve problems
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills
Attention to detail with consistent self-management and follow-through
Ability to make recommendations to officers and inspire others to achieve bank initiatives
Proactive attitude and desire to work as part of a motivated, driven team
Bachelor’s degree. A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
